Meet Tenisha Greene
B.B.A. in International Business
Earning a Degree in between Auditions
Tenisha Greene thought she'd take a year off after high school to pursue an acting career full-time and to further develop the modeling career she had already started. But then she heard about American InterContinental University's flexible schedule and decided she didn't need to put any part of her life on hold. "I saw the class schedule I could get and that it would allow me plenty of time to go to auditions and keep modeling.while earning a degree in case I didn't end up excelling in acting."
Tenisha started working towards her Bachelor's degree in International Business in July 2003, just three months after graduating from high school. She will graduate with a B.B.A. in June 2006.
Flexible classes have been the key to Tenisha's success. In September 2004, she got a job as a dancer (Tenisha started taking ballet at the age of five and went on to learn jazz, modern and hip hop) with one of China's biggest pop stars. She had to go to Beijing for several weeks where she performed two concerts and on a television show. When not on stage, Tenisha kept up with her AIU Los Angeles classes via the Internet. "All my professors were great in working with me so I could do this tour. I just told them what was going on, and they let me turn in my assignments online. When I came back, I was ready for finals and even aced them."
While Tenisha is enjoying some success in acting, modeling, and dancing now, she's looking toward her AIU Los Angeles degree to help her out in case she doesn't make it big in the entertainment industry. "I figured that if I didn't excel in acting or modeling, I would want to do something behind-the-scenes, but still in the entertainment field. I'd also like to work overseas someday. That's why I picked international business for my Bachelor's degree. I'm already looking towards a Master's degree, too. It would be in Marketing, though. I think those two degrees together would set me up to do whatever I wanted in entertainment around the world."
